Chuck Carlson

Club Historian

As Club Historian, Chuck Carlson is excited to document and tell the story of Chicago House Athletic Club’s development from the very beginning.

Chuck grew up a Chicago Sting fan while playing soccer and basketball in the northern suburbs of Chicago. He continued playing soccer for 4 years at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN where he twice earned Division II/III all-Midwest honors, and majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History. He has taught Physical Education, English and History in South Africa, South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand, as well as worked as an archivist at the National Archives in Washington, DC and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

A supporter of St. Pauli of Hamburg and a live music fanatic (averaging more than 200 unique bands per year prior to 2020), Chuck is looking forward to incorporating the Chicago area’s rich soccer history, cultural diversity and worker’s spirit into ensuring Chicago House AC’s story is as inclusive, and well documented, as it should be.
