Chicago, Illinois (May 1st, 2021) – Chicago House Athletic Club transitioned the Primary Team Ownership position today from Bruce Merivale-Austin to Lindsey Morgan Sacks, Chicago House AC Managing Partner and President Peter Wilt announced today.

Merivale-Austin, Managing Partner and Principle of DM Partners Asia, filled an important role in the initial stages of the club from his home base in Singapore. Sacks, the Chief Commercial Officer of Fruit Street Health PBC, a New York City based telehealth company, will now serve as the club’s PTO and Governor on the NISA Board. Wilt remains as Managing Partner, President, CEO and Alternate Governor on the NISA Board.

“We sincerely appreciate Bruce’s support through the club’s critical incubation period and welcome Lindsey joining the club in her pioneering role,” Wilt said. Sacks is now one of the few women who are Primary Team Owners of a professional sports team in the United States.

“I am happy I was able to help this new professional football club get off the ground in America,” Merivale-Austin said. “My responsibilities in Asia and the UK made it impractical to be involved as much as I would have liked. And I am confident that Peter and Lindsey will be able to carry on from here,” he said.

Sacks expressed her excitement about her new role. “I grew up in a sports minded family, fell in love with soccer through my husband and I’ve quickly embraced the social justice platform embodied in the Chicago House AC’s mission,” she said. Sacks is one of the few female primary team owners of a professional sports team in America, and the second in NISA following Bronwyn Capriotti of Cal United Strikers FC.

Sacks earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in communications at Rutgers University. She is the Chief Commercial Officer for Fruit Street, a leader in the telehealth industry. Fruit Street delivers the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program online through video chat telehealth sessions, wearable devices and dietary tracking in the Fruit Street mobile app. In addition to helping lower the risk to develop type 2 diabetes, the program can also lower the risk of having a heart attack or stroke, improve health overall, and help people feel more energetic.

Prior to Fruit Street, Sacks served as Corporate Digital Director for Rodale (brands include Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Prevention, Runner’s World and Bicycling magazines) marrying her interests in marketing and health/sports in New York City.

Sacks is married to, Laurence Girard, a former goalkeeper with the New York Red Bulls organization and founder of Fruit Street and NISA’s New York City based team, New Amsterdam FC.
