CHICAGO, IL (July 7th, 2021) – Chicago House Athletic Club, Chicago’s newest professional soccer team, announced the signing of three players to their active roster. Forward Jacob Bevan (25,) and midfielders Leonardo Acosta (19) and Matteo Kidd (23) will officially join the House in advance of their first NISA Independent Cup match on Friday evening, July 9th against the Milwaukee Torrent.

Jacob Bevan joins the House as a forward from Oxford, England. The left-footed striker got his start playing the game with Sheffield Wednesday FC youth in England during the 2008-2009 season before moving to the United States and competing with Sockers FC Chicago from 2010-2012. Bevan played collegiately at Western Illinois University from 2013-2017.

Following graduation, Bevan saw time with five different clubs over the course of four years in a variety of countries; Michigan Bucks (PDL) in 2017, Helsingor FC (Danish 1st Division) in 2018, Bradford Park Avenue (English National League) in 2019, and Buxton FC (English Northern Premier League) and CD Marino (Spanish Segunda B) in 2020.

“This man is a handful,” notes Chicago House AC Head Coach & Technical Director C.J. Brown. “His game is very physical. He will be putting pressure on center backs, creating a lot of turnovers and attacking transition play for us. He will bring the Chicago blue collar hard working mentality.”

“Being signed to Chicago House AC is a huge honor,” says Chicago’s newest forward. “To develop under a coach of [C.J. Brown’s] experience and to hear how ambitious he was about this year made the decision a no-brainer for me. I played a lot of soccer in Chicago as a youth player growing up, and now to come back as a professional and continue this journey is a great privilege.”

Midfielder Leonardo Acosta is a proven winner from the Chicagoland area, taking home one National Championship during his time with Chicago Inferno from 2015-2017 and another pair of National Championships while competing with Eclipse Soccer Club out of Oak Brook, IL from 2017-2019. He then went on to play indoors with the Chicago Mustangs (MASL 2) during the 2020-2021 season. Acosta recorded 20 goals in 10 matches with the Mustangs before signing professionally with Chicago House AC. Prior to his participation in Chicagoland club soccer, Acosta attended Addison Trail High School where he played during his junior and senior years.

“Leo has a ton of potential that needs to be tapped into. He has very soft feet and good body control with the ball,” says Coach Brown. “He has a creative mind in the attack. We look forward to seeing him develop his strength and speed of play. Another local product that will make Chicago proud!”

“Signing to Chicago House AC is a dream come true and I can’t wait to get on the field and defend the House,” says Acosta.

In addition to Acosta at the midfield position, Chicago House AC inks Saint Louis University product, Matteo Kidd. The Billiken competed at the NCAA Division I level from 2017-2020, where he served as a captain and took home Second-Team All Conference honors during his senior season.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Kidd also spent time with Saint Louis FC in 2016, Saint Louis FC U23 in 2017 and with the Green Bay Voyageurs in 2019.

“I’m very excited to see Matteo on the field. He has energy in the midfield that cannot be matched,” explains Coach Brown. “We will use him centrally and out wide. He is very good at making slashing runs out of the midfield and if he was in a wide position he will be looking to get in behind defenses. He will be a big threat for defenders I am sure.”

“Signing with Chicago House AC is an amazing feeling,” says Kidd. “Being able to be part of the club’s inaugural season is really special, and I have high hopes for the team and know that we are going to be successful, which will help pave the way for years to come.”

Pending registration approval from NISA and USSF, the additions of Jacob Bevan, Leonardo Acosta, and Matteo Kidd brings Chicago House AC’s roster to twelve players.
